The KWU student body in made up of roughly 900 students and not every student making up that body is from the United
States. Among the many students are two international students from China,
meet Jack and Jackson. Although well of economically, Chinese students are seeking someplace
else to substance their will to learn. The assumption is that the educational system in China
is based on students learning theories and memorizing facts that they do not necessarily get a chance to practice, yet developed
countries such as the United States are
providing a place for those theories learned to be practiced.
While
in China, Jack and Jackson learned through an agent that Jim Allen, a KWU International
Student Advisor was speaking at Yu Shang hotel about the college’s study abroad program. Now students at KWU, Jack in
majoring in business and plans to return back to china upon graduation for three reasons. To reward is parents and family,
to start his own company and hopefully get higher pay with his experienced abroad. Jackson,
a Math major on the other hand plans to be an architect back in China.
Although they both miss their home country, minor differences in students lifestyle help them not think about home so often.
“It is strange to see that every student owns a vehicle” Jack said, for he is use to seeing student riding bicycles
on campus back in China. They both enjoy
the natural setting of the campus and take time watching squirrels running up and down on campus trees.

They feel socially accepted on campus and
enjoy leisure time while playing ping-pong at Wilson –Hall lobby, watching soccer games at Martin Stadium, reading books
and partying on weekends
